We were delighted to welcome local poet, Nick Degg, into school last week to share and celebrate the joy of poetry.
Nick shared his poems in a whole school assembly and then worked with Year 1 and Year 2. He talked about his childhood and why he was inspired to write poems from an early age.
He explained that his poems often describe his life in Stoke on Trent, and when performing, he recites poems about crisps, allotments, bingo callers and oatcakes.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and we hope that they have been inspired to write poems of their own.
